A Letter from Ms. Patricia O’Donnell, Principal of St. Patrick School

Welcome to the St. Patrick School community! I am very proud and happy to say that I am the principal of this wonderful school. Being a part of the St. Pat’s School community means being part of this warm and welcoming family.

St. Patrick School has much to offer our students and families. Religion classes, which focus on the teachings of the Catholic Church as well as Gospel Living, are a part of our everyday curriculum and life. It is our daily aim to make our Catholic Faith come alive. We do not want Religion to be just a class, but rather a way of life. We strive to help each other grow in our relationship with Jesus Christ and to see Him in all those we meet each day. The end of the day Daily Examen helps us to open our hearts and listen quietly to the words of Jesus.

St. Pat’s academic program is top-notch! Whether it is English, writing or reading, Honors or Advanced Math, Science or Social Studies, all are integrated with the wonderful tools of technology. Spanish, Art, Music, Physical Education, Technology, and Library help us provide a balanced approach to learning and growing. Since the 2015-2016 school year, we have integrated a school-wide STREAM (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) unit into all of our curriculum areas. This year, 2020-21, will focus on Caring for God’s Creation through the learning about the weather. We are excited to provide this type of learning and curriculum integration to our students!

St. Patrick School’s technology program is a leading-edge program in the Chester County area. The use of technology tools and programs is a constant focus while teachers plan lessons and activities. Our goal is to help our students be collaborative, creative and critical thinkers for the 21st Century. Each student in grades 1-8 receive a Chromebook while each Pre-K and Kindergarten student receives technology instruction on iPads in addition to computer keyboarding lessons. Pre-K and Kindergarten also use iPads for center activities. All of our classrooms are equipped with Smart boards which enhance learning and interaction. St. Pat’s was awarded by the Connelly Foundation for our leadership in technology investment. Our most recent purchase of 30 Google Expedition Virtual Reality glasses will continue to enhance our students experience and expertise on the technology front.

You will not find a more dedicated and caring teaching staff anywhere. We have many lifelong learners on our faculty. Our teachers regularly attend workshops and graduate level classes. Over 2/3 of our faculty have Master’s degrees while a few more are in the midst of completing Master’s programs. Having teachers invest in their own continuous education helps us keep up with current trends and pedagogy.

You are going to love being a part of this school community – a community where the Light of Jesus Christ burns brightly – a community where we care about and look out for each other – a community that needs and welcomes you. Become a St. Patrick School Warrior today!
