Welcome to the St. Patrick School community!  I am very proud and happy to say that I am the principal of this wonderful school. Being a part of the St. Pat’s School community means being part of this warm and welcoming family.

St. Patrick School has much to offer our students and families. Religion classes, which focus on the teachings of the Catholic Church as well as Gospel Living, are a part of our everyday curriculum and life. It is our daily aim to make our Catholic Faith come alive. We do not want Religion to be just a class, but rather a way of living. We strive to help each other grow in our relationship with Jesus Christ and to see Him in all those we meet each day.

St. Pat’s academic program is top-notch! Our core subjects of ELA – writing, speaking and listening, reading, and language mechanics, Math – Honors and Advanced classes are offered, Science, and Social Studies, are all integrated with the wonderful tools of technology. Spanish Grades 4-8, Art, Music, Physical Education and Library help us provide a balanced approach to learning and growing. The 2015-2016 school year will include a STREAM (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) unit that will focus on water. We are excited to provide this type of learning and curriculum integration to our students!

St. Patrick School's technology program is a leading-edge program in the Chester County area. The use of technology tools and programs is a constant focus while teachers plan lessons and activities. Our goal is to help our students be collaborative, creative, and critical thinkers for the 21st Century. Our middle school student bring their own devices to school while students in grades PreK-4 use iPads and netbooks. All of our classrooms are equipped with Smart boards which enhance learning and interaction.

You will not find a more dedicated and caring teaching staff anywhere. We have many life-long learners on our faculty. Our teachers regularly attend workshops and graduate level classes. Many have or are obtaining their Master’s degree in order to keep up with current trends and pedagogy.

You are going to love being a part of this school community – a community where the Light of Jesus Christ burns brightly – a community where we care about and look out for each other – a community that needs and welcomes you. Become a St. Patrick School Warrior today!

A little bit about myself-

My name is Patricia O’Donnell and the “Luck of the Irish” has allowed me to be the principal of this wonderful school for the past two years. I am the oldest of five daughters and I have eight nieces and two nephews. I grew up in Flemington, New Jersey – some of my family still lives there – and, I will always be a “Jersey Girl” at heart!

I remember way back to when I was in 7th grade and I knew I wanted to be a teacher. I followed that dream and have been blessed with many educational opportunities and experiences. I taught 6th-8th grades for ten years and loved it – they are my favorite age group. I have been a principal for nineteen years in New Jersey, Virginia Beach, VA and here at St. Pat’s. I received my undergraduate degree in English and Secondary Education from Immaculata University. A few years later I attended The College of New Jersey (formally Trenton State) and earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. In May 2013, I completed a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on Web 2.0 tools through the University of Wisconsin. I feel that as an educator it is important for me to keep learning and challenging myself and I do love the technology piece!

In my free time I love to go to the beach, read, color, ride my bike, and play with my dog, Bailey. I have run in marathons, half-marathons, 10K’s and 5K’s as well as completed a few triathlons. I enjoy the training and then have fun and relax during the event. I am slow but steady and do love crossing the finish line! I keep an active “Bucket List” and have accomplished many items on it. Some of these have been skydiving, hot air balloon ride, hang gliding, snorkeling, driving a race car at the Pocono Raceway, and white water rafting. The list never ends, I just keep adding to it once I have accomplished something on it.

I look forward to getting to know you and welcoming you to St. Patrick School! Go Warriors!
