Amy Greene

Background:

I am excited to join the Saint Patrick Community as the STEM teacher. I have been a chemistry faculty member at Judson University, five years at Albright College, and most recently as a visiting faculty member at Haverford College. I worked with younger students through Total Experience Learning(R) in Reading, PA; I led science research classes and fun science workshops to 4-12th grade students and helped train K-12 teachers. More recently, I taught a high school biochemistry research camp through Summer Science Program international. I immersed 6-12th grade students in novel parasite research through an outreach grant, and  headed a National Science Foundation grant for future STEM teachers. I enjoyed a fellowship in research ethics, and hope to teach the St. Patrick students to ethically navigate the use of AI. I want my students to be scientists: make observations, ask questions, make hypotheses, design experiments, make new and exciting discoveries, and present their results. I always involve students in active learning through activities like acting out science concepts, solving escape room puzzles, and set up play based STEM exploration for the younger students. 

Personal:

I converted to Catholicism in 2012, married in 2016, and have four young kids, three of which will start with me at St. Patrick’s school in 2026. I love taking my kids to playgrounds and museums, reading them picture books, playing board games, and classical music.

One Thing I Want Parents to Know:

Please pray for me (and all teachers) to always model Christ-like behavior, be patient and effective in educating, and to find fulfillment in our work. Pray for the St. Patrick students to grow in their faith and be eager to learn.
