Dear Parents & Students,

My name is Mr. Daniel Sanicola and I am going to be taking over Ms. Sweeney’s class starting in October. In total, I will be with you all for the next 7 months which brings us to the end of the school year. During that time I look forward to getting to know each of you. I would now like to give you some more background information about myself. I grew up in Queens, New York, and after graduating from high school I attended college at Palm Beach University in  Florida where I studied History and Finance. After graduating from college, I worked in finance for a few years and also pursued my passion in music by singing in a rock/metal band. I would be happy to talk to you more about playing in a band and music in general if any of you are interested.

I moved to Philadelphia 3 years ago with my girlfriend to continue our education. My girlfriend is currently getting her doctorate in neuroscience while I finished my master’s degree in secondary education at Temple University. We also have 2 cute little dogs, which I will be more than happy to shower you with adorable photos of.

One Thing I Want Parents to Know:

Throughout my life I have always had a strong passion for working with children and young adults in working towards the betterment of society as a whole. This passion has driven me to not just become a teacher but also has led me to participate in numerous global volunteer missions, which included helping to repair an orphanage in Bolivia, as well as building a small home for a family with 3 young children in Mexico. Thus, teaching you this year would provide me with an opportunity that will allow me to combine both my education and my passion in working with you during the coming weeks.
