Background:

I grew up outside of Baltimore, Maryland and decided in the 7th grade that I wanted to be a History teacher. I have always loved studying history and discovering stories from the past. I pursued this dream at the University of Delaware and followed up with graduate school at Towson University. I was hired right from college to teach in a high school where I stayed for 6 years, teaching American Government, U.S. History, and Economics and loving every minute of it!

Personal:

I married my college sweetheart, Christian in 2002. After living in Baltimore for 6 years, we moved to Phoenixville, PA. My husband is a middle school Math teacher for the Phoenixville Area School District and grew up in Devon, PA. We have three children, Lauren, Colin, and Leah, who all attend schools in PASD. Our “fourth child” is our lab retriever mix, named Nora. We love to travel as a family, especially to Long Beach Island, New Jersey and the Thousand Islands region in Ontario, Canada. I love to decorate and design interior spaces. I spent several years working part-time as a decorator for design firms, including Sheffield’s in Malvern. I enjoy DIY projects and watching HGTV. We love to be outside, visit with our neighbors and family, and eat out in downtown Pville. I have traveled to China twice to work at two different orphanages and had wonderful experiences. I also am an adjunct faculty member at Wilmington University where I teach undergraduate education courses in the fall, spring, and summer.

One Thing I Want Parents to Know:

I am so excited to be a part of the St. Pat’s family! I absolutely loved the tradition and community environment of Catholic schools I attended, and I have always wanted to teach in the same setting. I truly believe that the middle school years are a vital time in building one’s faith and discovering who Jesus is. I am beyond thrilled that I get to teach at a school where God is alive in our everyday lessons and conversations. I feel so blessed to be able to walk beside my students, not just in their understanding of our past, but as fellow follower of Christ.
