Background:

I have always wanted to be a teacher since I was a young girl. My feelings became stronger in high school. I have been teaching for 37 years and have always loved working with children and helping them to reach their goals and have fun while doing it. I chose St. Pat’s because I heard it was a friendly, family-oriented school that wanted the best for its students. I heard this through my friends Tricia and Mike Allan. I love St. Pat’s because of the children, their families and the staff. It is a welcoming community that wants the best for everyone. In addition to teaching Spanish, I am the director of the Advanced Choir here at St. Pat’s.

Personal:

I was born and raised in the Mount Airy/Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia. My mother was a Captain in the United States Army during WWII and my Dad was a Sergeant in the Marine Corps. I have six brothers and sisters. My daughter, Julia, is 25 years old and is a 1st Lieutenant in the United States Army Reserves and also works at Amazon in their PR department. My son, Joseph, is 23 and is co-owner of his own movie production company and works as an assistant manager for another entertainment company.

I have one dog, Soot, who is a four-year-old German shepherd, and he loves to play ball and to open the refrigerator when he wants his own peanut butter. I love to cook all kinds of food, especially the fresh vegetables from our garden. Reading is one of my favorite hobbies—mysteries are my favorite genre. Watching movies is another hobby, as well as traveling. I have traveled to 48 out of our 50 states.

One Thing I Want Parents to Know:

I love teaching Spanish to the children. Teaching the language and the culture brings so many interesting facts and information to the children!
